Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUPA) is providing first-time home buyers an interest subsidy on home loans for acquisition/construction of houses (including re-purchase). Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) is a scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) which was earlier catering to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) only. This scheme has been extended to Middle Income Group (MIG) in the financial budget 2017-18.

Beneficiary family will comprise of husband, wife and unmarried children. (An adult earning member irrespective of marital status can be treated as a separate household in MIG category.)
The beneficiary family should not own a pucca house (all-weather dwelling units) either in his/her name or in the name of any member of his/her family in any part of India.*
In case of married couple, either of the spouses or both together in joint ownership will be eligible for a single subsidy.
The beneficiary family should not have availed of central assistance under any housing scheme from Government of India or any benefit under any other scheme in PMAY.
The scheme will cover 4041 statutory towns as per Census 2011. The list is available on www.nhb.org.in.
